AGREEMENT TO OUR TERMS
Welcome to Canadian Standard Typing Certificates™ ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website located at www.canadianstandardtypingcertificates.com (the "Site") and any related services (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you are expressly prohibited from using the Services and must discontinue use immediately.

1. OUR SERVICES
Canadian Standard Typing Certificates™ provides fully automated online typing tests and certificates that measure typing speed and accuracy. Our certificates can be used for job applications, resumes, CVs, and other professional purposes within Canada.
Our Services are intended for use by working-age adults for professional and employment-related purposes. All personal information collected in connection with the Services is used solely to administer and verify your typing assessment and to maintain your account. We do not use your information for commercial purposes. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
2. ELIGIBILITY
By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to use or register for the Services.
By proceeding to use the Services, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete any associated personal information as promptly as possible.
3. USER ACCOUNTS
Account Creation: You may be required to create an account to access certain features of our Services. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
Account Security: You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or use of your account at info@canadianstandardtypingcertificates.com.
4. PAYMENT AND FEES
Accepted Payment Methods: We accept payments through Stripe (which includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) and PayPal.
Pricing: All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to change without notice. Applicable taxes may apply in accordance with Canadian federal and provincial tax law.
Payment Processing: Payment transactions are processed directly by Stripe and PayPal. We do not store payment card information in our own systems. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorised to use the designated payment method.
5. REFUND POLICY
At Canadian Standard Typing Certificates, customer satisfaction is our priority. Refund requests are handled professionally by our support team.
Refund Eligibility: We consider reasonable partial or full refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Refund Requests: To request a refund, contact us at info@canadianstandardtypingcertificates.com within 14 days of your purchase.
Non-Refundable Items: Due to the digital nature of our products, refunds may not be available once access has been granted and the test has been completed.
6. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
Cheating or Fraud: Submitting falsified information or having another individual complete the typing test on your behalf.
Impersonation: Representing yourself as someone other than the registered account holder when completing the test.
Unauthorised Access: Attempting to gain unauthorised access to other user accounts or our systems.
Violation of Laws: Engaging in activities that violate any applicable Canadian federal, provincial, or local laws or regulations.
Interference: Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of our Services.
Harmful Conduct: Uploading or transmitting viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
Reselling Services: Reselling or redistributing our Services without prior written consent.
Data Misuse: Attempting to access, collect, or use the personal information of other users in any unauthorised manner.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Ownership: All content, features, and functionality on the Services — including text, graphics, logos, certificate designs, and software — are owned by the Company or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws.
Limited Licence: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial use.
Restrictions: You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our content without express written permission from the Company.
8. USER REPRESENTATIONS
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:
All information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.
You will maintain the accuracy of such information.
You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
You are at least 18 years of age.
You will not use the Services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose.
You will be the individual personally completing the typing tests.
You will not engage in any form of cheating or dishonest practices.
You understand that providing a certificate completed by another individual to a third party (such as an employer) may constitute fraud under applicable Canadian law.
9. PRIVACY POLICY AND DATA USE
We value your privacy. Your personal information is collected and used solely for the purpose of administering and verifying your typing assessment and maintaining your account. We do not use your personal information for commercial purposes and we do not sell your personal information to any third party.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to the data practices described therein, including the cross-border transfer of personal information as disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): We will only send you commercial electronic messages where we have obtained your express or implied consent in accordance with CASL. Service-related communications (such as account confirmations, test results, and security notices) are not commercial messages and do not require separate CASL consent.
10. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND CONTENT
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or content that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party websites.
11. DISCLAIMERS
"As Is" Basis: The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
No Guarantees: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the Services.
Certificate Recognition: While our certificates are designed to reflect genuine typing performance consistent with Canadian keyboarding standards, we make no representation that any particular employer or institution will accept or recognise our certificates.
Use at Your Own Risk: You assume all risk for any damage that may result from your use of the Services.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law:
No Indirect Damages: We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
Maximum Liability: Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the use of the Services shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the six (6) months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Canadian consumer protection or privacy law.
13. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Canadian Standard Typing Certificates, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services or your breach of these Terms.
14. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at info@canadianstandardtypingcertificates.com. We will make reasonable efforts to respond and resolve the matter within 30 days.
Payment Disputes
For disputes relating to payment transactions, the dispute resolution processes of PayPal and Stripe remain available to you.
15. MODIFICATIONS AND INTERRUPTIONS
Service Changes: We reserve the right to modify or discontinue all or part of the Services at any time without notice.
Interruptions: We are not liable for any unavailability or interruption of the Services.
Material Changes: Where we make material changes to the Services affecting your rights, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where practicable.
16. CORRECTIONS
There may be information on the Services that contains typographical errors or inaccuracies. We reserve the right to correct any errors and update information at any time without prior notice. This does not affect the validity of any certificate already issued.
17. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
By using the Services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us in accordance with applicable Canadian law, including CASL where applicable. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
18. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and any disputes arising in connection with them or the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory Canadian federal or provincial consumer protection or privacy legislation, including your rights under PIPEDA and, where applicable, Quebec Law 25.
19. MISCELLANEOUS
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the Services.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
Language: These Terms are provided in English. If you require a copy in French, please contact us at the email address below.
No Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
